Charleston
A fun city, so many interesting buildings, especially the pink ones. I took enough pictures of pink houses with shadows of the trees dancing in the late morning light. Small alley ways and cobble stone streets is like stepping back in time. The one agricultural detail that stood out to me was the fake front doors. It is a visual trick, a grand front door, but look to the side and no wall just a open porch. Seems back in the day, they were taxed on how many walls they had,
The Audubon Swamp was the best. I had to tear myself away, and had it not been for the gnats that came out, I would still be there. Birds nesting everywhere, so much activity, I was afraid I would miss something. Met some nice people along the way and scared one little boy who was putting his foot in the swamp while his dad watched. I reminded them there were alligators in the swamp and they like little boys toes for snacks.
I did have one amazing moment with a great blue and his frog lunch. Kind of gross but I couldn't save the frog so I just took pictures. It was a real Audubon moment. Don't miss the series below and additional shots in the notes section through out.
